PILLAR 1: SPORTS

Talent Development & Performance Pathways

PAWAS Academy’s Sports pillar is dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and advancing young football talents through a structured and performance-driven system. Rooted in grassroots engagement and strengthened by professional pathways, the academy provides a clear progression from early discovery to elite-level exposure. Our approach ensures that every player is developed with intention (technically, tactically, and physically) while being positioned for opportunities within the local and global football ecosystem.

Talent Identification & Recruitment

PAWAS operates a proactive and inclusive talent discovery system that reaches young athletes across communities, particularly those with limited access to structured opportunities. This we do through 3 unique approaches.

Scouting: PAWAS engages in open scouting initiatives and talent invitation programs across Nigeria. This includes for us levels of collaboration with schools, community leaders, and local clubs to widen the talent pool we can train.

Tournaments: We Organize grassroots football challenges and community tournaments to identify emerging talent and as a way to enhance community cohesion and advance youth development.

Structured Training & Coaching

The academy delivers a dual training model designed to accommodate both continuous development and high-performance exposure.

  • Year-Round Training Program: PAWAS runs a continuous, curriculum-based training for enrolled players, with emphasis on technical skills, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and teamwork especially for children of marginalized communities and backgrounds.
  • Soccer Camps: We Integrate modern coaching methodologies and sports science principles to ensure that we raise world class talent through two simple models
    • Elite Exposure Camps: The elite exposure camp is our flagship initiative which involves a high-intensity camping model designed to prepare top talents for trials, competitions, and scouting opportunities under the guide of international players.
    • Specialized/Customized Camps: We provide sessions for individuals; groups of individuals and institutions we require customized training opportunities. This curriculum, time span and location are often open to the co creation of such sessions with the potential client.

Player Profiling & Professional Pathways

PAWAS ensures that player development is matched with visibility and opportunity through structured profiling and strategic partnerships.

  • Profiling: We engage in the development of comprehensive player profiles including performance data, video highlights, and scouting reports which we make available o our website and digital archives as a way tracking player progress and enhancing their visibility.
  • Player Advancement: We facilitate trials, showcase opportunities, and strategic linkages with local and international clubs, agents, and networks, while guiding players through structured career pathways into professional football.

Athlete Financing & Welfare Support

Recognizing that financial barriers often limit talent progression, PAWAS provides targeted support systems to enable athlete development.

    • Financing (Kits & Financial Investments): PAWAS reduces the economic burden on players and their families by investing directly in the resources and opportunities required for athlete development through these 3 vehicles:
      • Provision of training kits, equipment, and essential sporting gear
      • Pre-financing of critical career opportunities such as trials, camps, and development programs
      • Targeted investment in high-potential athletes to accelerate progression and visibility
  • Welfare (Wellbeing & Support Systems): Beyond financial support, PAWAS ensures that players are nurtured within a safe, supportive, and enabling environment that promotes their overall wellbeing. We do this by maintain relationship and MOUs that make it easy to access a resource.
    • Basic health access
    • Continuous engagement with parents and guardians to strengthen support systems at home
